Professional Development Stipends for Individual Professionals

The San Miguel Behavioral Health Solutions Panel has funding available for professionals in San Miguel County to apply for professional development opportunities that will enhance their skills to better serve the needs of the community. This funding is available to licensed Colorado clinicians and those pursuing credentialing in Colorado who primarily serve clients who live or work in San Miguel County.

Priority Programs*

1.      Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

2.     Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

3.    Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

4.     Motivational Interviewing (MI)

5.    Trauma Informed Care (TIC)

6.     Certified or Licensed Addictions Counselor (CAC/LAC) (Substance Use Disorder training)

7.     Play Therapy

8.    Autism Spectrum Disorder

*Other programs will be considered and may be funded with prior approval of the Panel or its designee; programs must align with the behavioral health priorities of the Panel.  Clinicians are encouraged to contact Tri-County Health Network to discuss further.  Clinicians must apply and receive approval for all programs in order to receive reimbursement.

Program Criteria

1.      Clinician must serve clients who live or work in San Miguel County

2.     Training or coursework must be from a recognized accredited institution

3.     All applications must be approved in advance

4.     Reimbursement for passing grade and/or successful completion of the program

5.     No reimbursement prior to successful completion of the program

6.     Reimbursement will be made to the individual or agency (whoever pays for the course or provides receipt)

7.     Must provide certification of completion

8.     Reimbursement will cover the cost of tuition, course fees, and textbooks.  Travel expenses must be preapproved for out of area trainings and will be covered based on the current per diem federal reimbursement rates as set by the Government Services Administration (https://www.gsa.gov/travel/plan-book/per-diem-rates. Original, itemized receipts must be provided

9.     Individuals must complete the Application and provide proof of licensure within the state of Colorado

10.  Must agree to reimburse the County if within 24 months of receiving funding, the practice closes, the clinician relocates out of the area and stops serving County residents or workers for any other reason.

11.   Clinicians must make a good faith effort to serve clients who might otherwise not receive behavioral health services, including but not limited to clients on Medicaid/Medicare, clients without insurance, low-income clients.

Post Program Documents

Send the following to BHS-Panel@tchnetwork.org within two weeks of the completion of the program

1.      Certificate of completion (or equivalent)

2.     Copies of receipts for course

3.     Original, itemized receipts associated with travel (Meals will be reimbursed at an amount not to exceed the rate established by the government at http://www.gsa.gov.  Any meal expenses over the approved rate are not reimbursable. Alcoholic beverages are not reimbursable.  )

Upon receiving these documents, a reimbursement check will be sent.
