Apply For Funding

BHS encourages new initiatives, or the expansion of existing programs, and are interested in funding both those programs that provide individual interventions as well as those which have broader impacts on behavioral health landscape of San Miguel County.

Grant requests can be for 1 -3 years.  We also encourage the applicant to consider the sustainability of these initiatives should funding not be available after the grant cycle.

2024 Grant applications are due September 15 to be reviewed for the following year’s grant cycle. All applicants will be notified of the decision made on their proposals by October 27, 2023.

Grant applications for ad-hoc requests not proposed by BHS will be reviewed by BHS quarterly.

Funding Areas

Behavioral Health Fund

In order to remove financial barriers to care, the Panel has established the behavioral health fund to help pay for therapy sessions for community members who live or work in San Miguel County.

Behavioral Health Systems Navigator (Care Coordinator)

The San Miguel Behavioral Health Solutions Panel solicited applications from agencies and organizations interested in recruiting and employing a Behavioral Health Systems Navigator. The position was awarded during the January 28th, 2021 meeting to Tri-County Health Network.

Professional Development Stipends for Individual Professionals

The San Miguel Behavioral Health Solutions Panel has funding available for professionals in San Miguel County to apply for professional development opportunities that will enhance their skills to better serve the needs of the community. This funding is available to licensed Colorado clinicians and those pursuing credentialing in Colorado who primarily serve clients who live or work in San Miguel County.

Clinical Supervision Stipends

With the goal of supporting individuals wishing to become behavioral health clinicians in San Miguel County, BHS has created a Clinical Supervision program to help students fund supervision hours and help clinicians become certified supervisors.

Additional Funding Areas

Based on stakeholder and community member responses, the Panel has identified the following areas to consider for future funding initiatives:

Expand and support the San Miguel County behavioral health workforce through:

  1. The hiring and retention of qualified bilingual and bicultural Spanish/English behavioral health professionals

  2. Professional development opportunities for existing clinicians in the county

Implement changes to reduce barriers and improve access through:

  1. Funding a Behavioral Health Systems Navigator position to serve individuals in San Miguel County

Continue to support in-person crisis response services in San Miguel County
