      <image:title>Clinical Supervision - Clinical Supervision</image:title>
      <image:caption>With the goal of supporting individuals wishing to become behavioral health clinicians in San Miguel County, BHS has created a Clinical Supervision program to help students fund supervision hours and help clinicians become certified supervisors. Applications: Student Application Supervisor Application Requirements for students: Student applies for supervision hours to be paid for through BHS. Application reviewed and if approved, student receives funding for supervision hours to be paid directly to their supervisor Must agree to reimburse the County if within 24 months of receiving funding, the student relocates out of the area and stops serving County residents or workers Once supervision hours are completed, new clinicians must make a good faith effort to serve clients who might otherwise not receive behavioral health services, including but not limited to clients on Medicaid/Medicare, clients without insurance, low-income clients. Must to agree to complete exit survey to inform BHS on the quality of their supervision Requirements for supervisors: Supervisor must be accredited through the BHS approved clinical supervisor training program (noted below) and currently serving SMC clients. ACS CCE Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) Program: https://www.cce-global.org/credentialing/acs REQUIREMENTS: Education: Master's or higher in a mental health field Credential: National Certified Counselor (NCC), Licensed or certified mental health provider, or a Licensed or certified clinical supervisor Professional Disclosure Statement Specialized training You must document completion of either of the following: a. A three–semester-hour graduate course in clinical supervision from a CACREP-accredited program (by transcript) OR b. A 45–clock-hour NBCC-approved workshop training in clinical supervision (by certificate copy) OR c. A total of 45 clock hours of clinical supervision training specific to providing supervision or becoming a supervisor, which must include each of the outlined content areas Mental health related experience You must document a minimum of five years of post-master’s experience in mental health services that includes at least 4,000 hours of direct service with clients. You may substitute a conferred doctorate and/or completed internship for up to three years and 900 hours of the total required. Clinical Supervision Endorsement You must submit an endorsement form documenting a minimum of 100 hours of your own clinical supervision of individuals providing mental health services. Your supervision experience may include individual and/or group supervision, with a maximum of 10 members in a supervision group. You may use supervision of graduate students in training to fulfill this requirement. The endorser of your supervision must be a current NCC or licensed or certified mental health provider and must have training in clinical supervision. Need to be actively practicing Need to agree to be on BHS supervisor registry and availability to supervise one student per year (based on demand)</image:caption>
